Data Center Operations Management (DCOM)
Data Center Operations Management (DCOM) refers to the everyday oversight of products, processes, services and supply chains that keep a data center running efficiently, effectively and securely.
Operations management is a broad term that includes the implementation and ongoing care of everything it takes to make a data center successful. DCOM personnel may use advanced tools like infrastructure management software, RFID tags, biometric security and other means to ensure that systems are operating efficiently and that equipment and personnel remain safe and secure. They may also write and enforce very detailed processes to ensure maximum uptime with minimal risk.
