Fiber Distribution Unit (FDU)
A Fiber Distribution Unit (FDU) is a type of hardware that provides fiber cable management at termination points.
FDUs are designed to provide cross-connects or interconnects between incoming fiber-optic cables and equipment. FDUs are available in a variety of configurations for rack- or wall-mount solutions and can accommodate a wide range of fiber adapters. The panels are equipped with drawers, trays or swivel plates that are easily accessed for easy patching and/or splicing.
