Letter of Authorization (LOA)

A Letter of Authorization (LOA) is a legal document that includes information regarding where and when a circuit is to be terminated or reassigned to another telecommunications carrier.

Included in the document is a connecting facility assignment (CFA), which specifies the location where the connection is to be terminated within the data center, such as the cabinets, shelves and plugs. Frequently, the LOA and COA are listed together, as in: LOA/CFA.
