Stream’s new campus in Elk Grove Village, IL will help meet the growing demand for Chicago market data center services, connecting customers to the benefits of strong infrastructure, a central location and clean, affordable and reliable power found in the ComEd service territory.

ORDC, Stream’s third development in the area (a.k.a. Chicago III), is underway with building one, a two-story facility set to deliver 40 MW. Stream’s third Illinois data center project in the past 5 years, leverages ComEd’s nation-leading reliability, access to clean power and competitive costs to meet growing demand for business tech services.  As the electrical company serving northern Illinois, ComEd will deliver infrastructure upgrades to power the new campus.

Stream Data Centers’ second data center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois (aka Chicago II) is a 226,000 SF facility that provides 32 MW of critical capacity. Tenants benefit from excellent infrastructure, outstanding access to all major cloud providers, robust network connectivity and affordable renewable power options. Stream acquired the site, and launched development in 2020, and initiated phase one commissioning in 3Q22. In 2023, the site was fully leased by a few select cloud providers and hyperscale tenants.

As Stream Data Centers’ first facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, ORDA1 (aka Chicago I) is a perfect example of our strategy to proactively build data centers in locations where total cost of ownership can be optimized, risk is low, network connectivity is robust, and sustainability is easily achievable. ORDA checks all those boxes – including sales tax exemptions, readily available robust fiber optic connectivity and the most reliable power in the country. Stream acquired the property in December of 2017. After successful reconstruction, the now 155,189 square foot facility was fully leased and expanded for a major cloud customer at the end of 2020.
