Josh Bailey spent almost a decade in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Program, where operational excellence is literally a matter of life and death. While data center operations aren’t quite that dire, he treats his role at Stream — and the organizations’ commitments to its customers — with the same gravity.

No stranger to ensuring exceptional operations at mind-boggling scale, Josh spent eight years managing data center operations Amazon Web Services (AWS) before joining Stream, bringing with him a keen understanding of how to ensure hyperscale-level excellence.

As a Navy recruiter, Josh earned a commendation normally reserved for much higher-ranking officers thanks to his not-so-secret team-building process: hiring for character and training for skills. He’s taken that approach to developing new hiring procedures and a new training program at Stream, continuing to furnish the company’s operational ranks with leading talent.

Most at home in mission-critical environments, Josh has created a central operations organization that develops and maintains all of the policies and procedure requirements — as well as the training and qualification standards — for Stream’s data center operators, ensure consistent excellence at every data center across its growing footprint.
